Welcome to April Elsewhere!
My name is April Brown-Turner, I’m a 29 year old Australian exploring the world with my best friend and partner Josh. I am a passionate photographer, videographer and animator, and can’t wait to share my experiences with you!
In my mid-twenties, I realised I didn’t exactly know where I fit in to the typical life mould. People around me were building careers, buying houses and starting families. Like many, I began mindlessly working towards these goals, spending my time studying administration and developing a career.
When I was 25, Josh and I booked a 2 week trip to Japan. It was unlike anything I had ever experienced – Modern, yet quirky, and rich in history and tradition. For me this trip was the turning point. I realised that my happiness would never be found chipping away at the corporate career ladder, and most importantly, that I had the ability to choose my own path in life.
Since then, we have travelled across Europe and the South Pacific, and spend the remainder of our time exploring hidden corners of Australia at every opportunity we get. I have rekindled my creative spark and completed a degree in Digital Design to support my dream of freelancing and living abroad.
I am forever gathering travel information and meticulously planning my next adventures (I guess it comes with the profession). My friends refer to me as the “Plan Monster” – I’m not sure if this is a compliment, but it sure comes in handy when scouring the globe for unique locations and plotting out the best routes for our adventures.
This blog will be home to detailed travel guides and tips to assist you in planning your own adventures. I will share my experiences with you and provide a visual of what our planet has to offer through video and photography. Let me take care of the plans, and help you make your travel dreams a reality!
